Blaine,
Farm Equipment Transport

Standard Minnesota limits generally allow loads up to 8 feet 6 inches wide, 13 feet 6 inches high, 75 feet for qualifying combination vehicles, and 80,000 pounds gross vehicle weight. Farm equipment exceeding these limits may require an oversize or overweight permit.

Farm equipment exceeding Minnesota legal size or weight limits may require an oversize or overweight permit before moving through Blaine. Loaded dimensions, gross and axle weights, trailer configuration, origin, destination, and route should be confirmed so bridge restrictions, seasonal limits, and Twin Cities routing can be reviewed.

Pilot cars may be required for oversize farm equipment moving through Blaine based on the permitted width, height, length, and route. Minnesota requires pilot car drivers used for permitted moves to meet state certification requirements, and the issued permit determines the escort configuration for the shipment.

Oversize farm equipment moving through Blaine must follow the travel times and route conditions listed on the Minnesota permit. Larger loads may face additional movement restrictions, and holiday, construction, weather, or seasonal roadway conditions can affect when travel is allowed.

Farm equipment transport in Blaine should use a trailer rated for the machine’s weight with properly secured chains, binders, and tie-down points. Oversized loads may also require warning signs, flags, lights, escorts, and other safety equipment based on Minnesota permit conditions.

Farm equipment routes from Blaine should account for Twin Cities congestion before transitioning to rural Minnesota roads. Trailer height, bridge clearances, seasonal road limits, construction, weather, and the final farm approach should all be reviewed before dispatch.
